Job Description:

Asphalt Specialists, currently looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform truck and trailer repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards. Responsible for diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering and cooling systems. The person must keep track of the maintenance work on the vehicles and ensures services provided are in compliance with safety procedures. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. This is a 2nd/3rd shift start time 5pm with overtime.

Experience and Skills:

*Responsible for handling the assigned inspection and repair of heavy-duty trucks.

*Ability to perform repairs including preventative and non-scheduled maintenance with focus on inspection, troubleshooting, as well as the repair/replacement of components and systems.

*Perform diagnostic, repair, maintenance on trucks, construction equipment and auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and specifications.

*Knowledge of safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment.

*Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts to execute repairs.

*Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations

*Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures.

*Must possess a valid CDL license with good driving record.

*Must meet all regulatory requirements to operate trucks and other equipment used.

*Consistently capable of independently analyzing and safely resolving problems.

*5+ years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

*Self-motivated with own tools.

Skills and Qualifications:

Candidate should have strong work ethic and the proven ability to maintain and repair diesel trucks and equipment. Ability to safely work in fast-paced environment and maintain a positive working relationship with all employees.MDOT certificate preferred by not required.
